3 July - 12 August 2019 at the Dharamkot Centre, Dharamsala
9 March - 19 April 2020 at the Himalaya Shanti Ashram – our Eco Retreat for Yoga, Meditation and Healing
The Teachers Training Course offered at the Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre is a six-week long , rigorous course (including three weeks of the Intensive Course, focusing on a specific theme). It is designed for motivated practitioners who wish to make the spiritual path of Yoga a way of life and want to teach others how to walk the same path.
Students participating in the Teachers Training Course will be provided with two healthy vegetarian meals, along with afternoon tea on a daily basis. The daily schedule, course structure and retreat atmosphere follows the same structure as the Intensive Courses. It is expected that self practice is completed each day, before the morning class begins.
2nd Level TTC
This course is a continuation of the first TTC, during which we learn the most important asanas on a basic level of instruction and correction. The 2nd level TTC goes deeper in exploring and recognizing blockages in students on the mental and energetic planes and practices how we can help them remove these blockages. This insight takes us further into understanding the therapeutics of yogic practice. For this reason those applying should have some knowledge of common ailments, their symptoms and cures in both allopathic and alternative therapies. As this course marks the end of teachers training before receiving a certificate, we will go into the basics of teaching pranayama as well as conducting intensive courses. It should be noted that to do this course it is not only essential to have done level 1 of the TTC, but to have practiced diligently afterwards.
